Montenegro Explorer organizes expeditions to the most attractive canyons of the rivers Moraca, Tara, and Lim.

The river Moraca flows from northern Montenegro through beautiful canyons until it merges with the tributary Zeta and continues through the capital of Podgorica. This is undoubtedly one of the most scenic in river routes in all of Europe. In its upper reaches from the village of Redice, the Moraca River features level V rapids in an almost inaccessible canyon, needles to say it’s a must for top kayakers worldwide.
Lim River:
The river Lim slowly flows from its headwaters in the picturesque Plavsko Lake. You must be very cautious in the shorter canyon downstream from Berane as it contains a difficult level V cataract and is only recommender for top kayakers.
Tara River:
The river Tara is the most famous river in Montenegro. This is due to a long paddling season and its’ location in the famous Tara Canyon which was designated a UNESCO world heritage site in 1980. The Tara Canyon is the second deepest canyon in the world, behind the Grand Canyon in Arizona, USA. Generally the 60km long Tara Canyon can be paddled in a two day trip.
